Nose reshaping surgery (rhinoplasty) is the go-to procedure for men and women who want to bring a better balance to their overall facial appearance. The procedure produces lifelong results without extensive downtime. With careful planning, you can prepare yourself for a smooth recovery and get back to your normal routine as soon as possible.
Although no two surgeries are the same, there are a few things you can expect before your upcoming procedure. If you’re like many men and women thinking about nose reshaping, you’ve got a pretty good idea of what you’d like to achieve. At Image Surgical Arts, we’re here to help you get the results you want as safely and effectively as possible. It all starts with your initial consultation.
Getting A Look You’ll Love
The consultation phase is an essential part of planning for your surgery. This is the ideal time to speak openly with your surgeon about your concerns as well as your desired goals. As triple a board-certified surgeon, Dr. Brady Harris takes the time to understand your aesthetic views so he can carefully craft a procedure that’ll produce an optimal outcome.
Once your rhinoplasty has been customized, Dr. Harris will walk you through every aspect of your procedure from start to finish. Before your surgery, the team at Image Surgical Arts will help schedule and plan for your upcoming rhinoplasty. This may include some of the following.
#1: Lab Tests & Medical Exams
To make sure you’re in otherwise good general health, you will likely need to undergo several lab tests and medical exams. This way, Dr. Harris can prepare for your surgery and spot potential complications beforehand. These exams should be completed and turned into the office in the weeks prior to your upcoming treatment.

#2: Medication Adjustments
Dr. Harris may make minor adjustments to your current medications prior to surgery. In some instances, you might need to start certain medications. In others, Dr. Harris will ask you to avoid taking aspirin, anti-inflammatory drugs, and herbal supplements that can increase bleeding.
#3: Preparing Your Recovery
Planning childcare, pet care, and self-care ahead of time can facilitate a smooth recovery at home. Immediately after surgery, even the smallest tasks may seem daunting. It’s a good idea to have someone to drive you home and help out around the house for at least the first night. Plan to take 5-10 days off work and other strenuous activities to ensure a full recovery.
Smoking & Rhinoplasty Don’t Mix
Like any surgical procedure, non-smokers typically have the best outcome. If you are a smoker and are considering rhinoplasty, you may need to quit smoking (this includes all forms of nicotine) for at least one month before and after your procedure. Smoking can prolong unnecessary recovery and hinder the final outcome of your procedure.
I have always had a great experience at Image Surgical Arts. Dr. Harris and his team are great!
